We would like to acknowledge our debt to a number of earlier texts on regression analysis that have provided guidance to us as we have tried to write this book. In particular, we acknowledge the influence of the following works:
We have also attempted to cover the topics in a way that helps students construct a basic understanding of linear regression, multiple regression models, and analysis of variance for designed experiments. We hope that our readers find this text useful for teaching applied regression analysis in graduate and post-graduate courses.
We have tried to anticipate most of the problems that students in the advanced statistics courses described in the appendixes are likely to encounter. For example, we have provided short review material for the most commonly required material in other introductory statistics courses and have tried to make it as self-contained as possible.
We have attempted to make the material on regression models as familiar as possible for the statisticians among our readers. The text is written in a way that assumes a good working knowledge of the material presented, but at the same time is written to be accessible to students with minimal prior background in statistics.
This book was designed to serve as a companion to Introduction to the Practice of Statistics, Regression Analysis for the Behavioral Sciences, Design and Analysis of Experiments, and Regression Analysis and Applications, all available from Elsevier.
There is a vast literature on the application of regression techniques to real-world problems. We have included a listing of some books and monographs in the Suggested Readings on the companion Web site (http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/statistics/statBook.htm). The instructors we have trained in the use of the techniques covered in this text have found them to be of enormous help in the course.
If another hacker does this, then they will be able to put any game on the ps3 in a matter of minutes! and that means that Sony will be out of the console market for good. We have seen what happens when sony doesn't support games anymore. Nintendo is turning a profit, now it is time for Sony to do the same, or else they are dead.
I don't see the appeal of owning a Sony PS3, and I don't see the value of the PS3 as an entertainment device. Sony has become one of the most untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry in my eyes. 827ec27edc
