Michelle Carter (born August 24, 1992) is an American singer and songwriter from the Philadelphia area. She is best known as the lead vocalist for American rock band Dashboard Confessional. She has often opened for the band, and has also released two solo albums.
The original “Working for the Weekend” by The Weekend was released on their second album “Nite Moves” in 1979. The song has been a staple in their live sets and the band even scored a minor hit in 2013 with a cover version.
A cover of “Light of Love” by The Pointer Sisters became a smash in 1979, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was written by Brian Holland and Edward Holland, and is featured on the group’s second album “Private Eyes.”
One of the important decisions the band made early in the process was to also pair them with producer Howard Willing, who had a hand in the success of acts like Foo Fighters and Matchbox 20. This decision paid off, as the results of his work can be heard throughout the album.
Bon Jovi and the band are still making music, with two new albums on the way. The group will return to the UK on July 8 and 9 to play four shows at Wembley Stadium, and will kick off their tour of Europe on July 10 in Madrid. The following day, the group heads to Portugal for a performance at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro. From there, they will stay in Europe for the rest of the month. The band will kick off their North American tour on August 15 in Toronto.
