I also tried this option: I went into the Audio MIDI Setup, set the output as "Soundcard" and the "Soundcard Direct" as the input and "RealTone" as the output format. Then I changed the right driver setting to the "stereo" device. It loaded in the software and would play some of the songs but then on the next song I would get an error 10. After a few tries I got it to work but as soon as I unplugged and plugged it back in again I would have an error 10. Maybe this could be a workaround until a solution is available?

Just realized this is a pretty old post and as I have never replied I thought I should probably post anyway. I also could not use the original real tone cable as I have a ATX multi-output port device and I was using the component port and the real tone cable would not route to the right. I ended up just getting a USB rt. sound cable and it works flawlessly. I had the same problem that I was getting error 10 on songs. I then unplugged and replugged the rt. cable and as the program was loading I would get error 10 again with a message that my realtone cable is not plugged in. I then unplugged the rt. cable and plugged it in once again, and it worked as expected. Over the past few months I have only unplugged the rt. cable and when I replugged it Rockmith plays all of the songs correctly.

I tried using the original realtone cable and the one that came with my 2014 copy of Rocksmith, and the 2013 driver, but got the same result with both. The terminal "error 10" came up even though the audio output was set to the correct "Soundcard " in the Audio MIDI Setup utility. I then unplugged the cable and plugged it back in, and the error message disappeared and songs could be played. However, whenever I unplug the cable, the whole computer freezes. There's activity on the logs, and free memory, etc, but the whole system freezes. It seems that the first thing that happens is the "error 10" window goes away, and then the whole system freezes. d2c66b5586
