Automated performance measurements : A new UI and new APIs make it possible to send custom performance measurements (average, total). In some cases, you can re-generate these reports automatically (see the section on Garbage collection). #11069

A new package with a universal API : Distributed collections, events and auto publish-reactive subscriptions are now available in the platform. This yields better performance in your apps, thanks to our algorithms for managing event notifications and reactive updates.

More modular integration : These new APIs allow you to use Meteor's apis in a more modular way. This makes it easier to add new features as modular code and not push them on top of all of your code.

Tree shaking : All of your code is now static, which means static analysis tools (like Webpack) can generate files that are blazingly fast to load (sometimes even faster than TypeScript). Note that there are still many features not supported (this version supports only the standard web platform API).

Server side rendering : Server side rendering is now supported by the packages with a corresponding output. While not fully implemented, it can already be rendered in the browser (on top of reduced bundle sizes thanks to filesharing).
