The install is pretty tedious due to the nature of VMware Fusion, and it took me a while to figure out why it wasn't playing ball. In the end it was a combination of some disastrophic cluster-plumping put into place by VMware, and some ZIP file issues on the installed copy of Mac OS X.
I recommend you install Ubuntu prior to installing Mac OS X on Hyper-V. This way you can avoid the issue of installing Ubuntu directly in Fusion and then installing Mac OS X, which is complicated.
Close the script once you have it running correctly. It will be waiting for a connection at port 8080 and it requires an admin password. Make sure you're supplying the correct root password to the script, and that whoever runs this has permission to use sockets.
For the second part, I don't know offhand how it worked on Lion/Mountain Lion, I don't remember. You definitely cannot boot Mountain Lion on another Mac. If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, and want to boot VMware Fusion, the Mac needs to have VMware Fusion installed. But if you are not booting Mountain Lion on another Mac, download the installer for Fusion 4.1 for Windows. If you have it, you won't have to buy Mountain Lion. d2c66b5586
