The first time you use the program, you will be prompted to enter a username and a password. SNAP enables you to connect to a number of data repositories. This is not the case for the tutorial, but we will see how to create a new account later. For now, the user will have to insert the data that will be processed (these are the Sentinel-1 data we downloaded in Part I of the tutorial) in a specific folder.
It is important to note that the SNAP toolbox can be used in a number of platforms, not only in Windows or Linux, and even in a mobile one. In fact, it is one of the so-called remote sensing software . In this case, SNAP supports image processing for most of the platforms. To test, we use the Windows 8.1 platform with the SNAP software. Figure 2 shows the main window of SNAP.
Finally the SNAP software is installed and ready to use. To access its main window, you can use the default shortcut Windows key+D or use the menu icon in the lower left corner of the window.
In a few seconds the satellites will be downloaded and the software will automatically open the first of the three Sentinel-1 folders. Important: In case you do not have Windows installed on your system, you can switch to the SNAP/Linux overview. Click on the Linux 827ec27edc
