Dr. Kevin Cosby, years ago, Simmons College tried to buy the property on which the athletic center now stands, and Ford Motors approached the college about creating an advanced manufacturing plant there, though it never came to be. In 2014, Spalding University bought the land for $1 million from Huber Book Enterprises and Dover Energy, finishing the athletic center this September.
WHITTIER, Calif. - The Southwestern University men's lacrosse team won their third straight game including their fifth of their last six, holding off Eastern Connecticut St. for a 13-12 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Stadium on the campus of Whittier College.
It was much of the same in the second, this time the Pirates extending their three consecutive goals to five as junior Kai Knight-Turcan and Asbury made it a 5-3 game. However, this time Eastern Connecticut St. closed the half strong, scoring two straight goals to even the game at five at the break.
Knight-Turcan and Amerie scored back-to-back goals to make it 12-8, but Eastern Connecticut St. scored three straight to cut it to one at 12-11. With 2:00 to play, Knight-Turcan got a huge goal to break the run and move ahead 13-11. The Warriors got one back with 57 seconds to play, but freshman Achilles Armendariz got the huge face-off win as Southwestern was able to run the clock out and earn the win.
From 1996-2001, Sachs was the associate head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He helped the squad to 98 total wins, five straight winning seasons, including a pair of 20-win campaigns and a NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 1999-2000. While at IUP, Sachs coached and recruited 13 all PSAC players including three PSAC players of the year in Dennis Mims, Mike Beckles and 1st team All-American Rodney Horton.

The 28 victories in 1991-1992 set a school record for wins, with the team winning 27 straight games and advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight. While at Salisbury, he helped build the Sea Gulls into a national power and recruited six all league players.
