We've been watching the Shield TV in action for the past couple of weeks, and today NVIDIA's offering us their first glimpse at the platform: Borderlands.
As with the SHIELD gaming tablet, the Shield TV is designed for Android gamers. The SHIELD is now a full-on home entertainment platform, with a 4K HDR display and full 1080p gaming at 60FPS. While the gameplay is fun, the story is a little weak, and the writing is definitely not from the writers who've done the previous games. Still, this is the first game in the series to get an Android port, so hopefully it will be better than the previous two.
Overall I wasn't blown away by the game. I've seen the graphics in Borderlands 2 on consoles, and I was expecting something similar on the SHIELD. But I can definitely see how this game could be a great choice for streaming and playing on the go. And I can definitely see myself not wanting to play the full game at all but instead just streaming missions.
