How can artists sell art and paintings online? How will they market themselves? Making a living as a career artist means understanding how to build an audience, how to price art products, and the unique requirements for shipping art. It means thinking like an entrepreneur.
Best known by her artist moniker Hatecopy, Maria Qamar quit her advertising career to focus on art when her pop art paintings began to catch fire on Instagram. Now she works full time on her art, selling her own paintings in multiple formats, from art prints to books to printed merch.
During his lifetime, Ross produced tens of thousands of paintings. Yet, only a handful of his works have popped up for sale in recent years. When they do appear, they often fetch $10k+ and attract dozens of bids.
We believe we are the best place to sell oil paintings compared with the other options of online, auction, sale or return and privately. When asking what is the best way to sell fine art you have to consider the cost and ease of the transaction and also security and prompt payment.
When asking how to auction paintings you have to be prepared to pay all auction fees and decide if it is worth it for you and your item. You would need to submit details to the auction house and arrange shipping. After agreeing to sell you will normally need to wait for a sale which can vary from around two weeks to six months. If the item sells you will have to wait for payment and if unsold you will usually have to pay to get your item back! Taking all fees into account auctions usually take around 50% out of the deal between buyer and seller!
We do buy limited edition prints but mainly original hand made limited edition prints e.g. etchings, woodcuts, linocuts, silkscreens and lithographs. We do not buy or sell limited edition prints which are reproductions of paintings i.e. just mechanical or digital copies of oils and watercolours. e.g. Sir William Russell Flint, David Shepherd and Montague Dawson prints, as the market for these prints is poor and they are out of fashion. However we do buy originals by these artists.
Selling paintings to galleries and specialist dealers is in my experience best when done with a direct sale. You agree a price and the gallery pays by return. The advantage of selling a painting in this way is that there is less risk and the deal is done.
This depends on the paintings being sold, marketing cost and saleability of the work. Many leading galleries charge 30-50%+VAT comission on a sale or return bases. If selling by sale or return make sure you have a signed written contract and make sure you are paid a soon as the gallery has sold the painting. Remember if the gallery is selling by sale or return they may not have as much incentive to promote or sell your painting as much as one that they own. They also have your painting over an extended period of time so check they are finically stable. It may be better to sell direct.

I received Seleman Kubwimana's beautiful and authentic paintings today. I was overwhelmed with positive emotions and good gratitude when I opened them. Seleman poured his heart and soul into these beautiful paintings, and these three pieces: Rwatubyaye, Ikibasumba, and Gikundiro, channel the energy of Yemaya/Yemoja.. Thank you again for collaborating, arranging, and preparing the purchase of original African art.

Over the now many years that I have dealt with Leighton Fine Arts and the dozens of paintings I have bought from Nick, both for my own home and that of my clients, I have never been disappointed, nor could I fault the impeccable service this dealer provides.
Our New York City painting and fine art specialists are especially interested in oil paintings. True professional-quality oil paintings possess several layers beginning with the base, usually fabric such as canvas stretched over a frame, but sometimes a plain wooden panel. Onto this is spread a base, which prevents the actual paints from rotting the canvas over time. If you possess an oil painting that is several centuries old, chances are excellent it has been treated in this fashion, which is good news.
The one thing that I would recommend is patience. If you decide to go with your own website it will take awhile to get ranked towards the first couple of pages on a search engine. I recommend staying away from such general keywords as paintings for sale and reduce it to keywords that do not have tremendous competition yet describes your paintings. Good luck to you.Papadan.

Wallspace Exchange helps facilitate fine art sales throughout the world. Restaurants, Hotels, Bars, Spas, Salons, Retail Stores, Cafes and Airport Terminals allow artists to sell their paintings on their wallspace in return for a commission. The business generates another source of income while the artist gains a larger audience to show their artwork and increase sales. Businesses save on interior design costs and get an updated look while helping the art community.
The business or artist may want to use an Art Broker from Wallspace Exchange to handle the negotiations, scouting, and logistics for the paintings. An Art Broker may represent a client such as a restaurant or hotel that can bring in certain types of artwork the client is looking for. Also, the Art Broker may represent an artist and help place their artwork on walls of several different types of businesses. In return for the work done by the Art Broker, upon sale of the painting they will receive a commission. 781b155fdc
